RULES & GUIDELINES
WHO CAN ENTER?
The Totton & Eling Arts Festival Open Exhibition 2017 is open to living artists over the age of 18, who are local residents (Hampshire). Only original, two-dimensional works in any painting, drawing media or photograph that have been completed in the last three years, and that have not been previously exhibited, are eligible. Some 3D pieces may also be submitted but will need to be considered based on the ability to display them. All works must be for sale, except commissioned portraits. The judges’ decision will be final and binding.
WHAT CAN BE ENTERED?
Artists may submit up to three works. Works of art submitted must not exceed 100cm (39in) in their largest dimension including frame. Clip frames will not be allowed. Works on paper must be securely framed and behind glass. It is suggested that canvases in excess of 90cm (36in) square should have adequate cross-bearers to avoid damage. There should be no projections from the back of the frames. Please tape-down any wires or rings on the back of the frames.
All works to be hung arrive strung ready to hang (we cannot accept work without) and be bubble wrapped or otherwise protected to avoid damage until goods are hung.
All works must be labelled with the artist’s name, address, title of work and, if for sale, the price (inclusive of commission). Works submitted must be available for exhibition.
The risk of damage or loss, however caused, is the responsibility of the artist, who is therefore advised to arrange adequate insurance cover.
Accepted works need to be delivered to Hanger Farm Arts Centre on: Friday 28th April between 10am -3pm.
SALE OF WORKS
All works must be for sale, except for commissioned portraits. Works not for sale must be labelled NFS. If not, Totton & Eling Arts Festival is authorised to offer them for sale. Commission of 35% will be levied on works sold during or as a result of the exhibition.
We will do our best to notify you if your artwork has been sold within 3 days of the sale. Regardless of when the item is sold, all payments less commission can be collected from Hanger Farm Arts Centre on Wednesday 31st May.
